1320Xtreme.com presents “Xtreme No Lift” concept race. “Perfect end to a great day of Racing”

For several months now, the Redneck and I have been tossing around ideas about different types of Heads up racing formats. After much debating and theorizing, we set our resident computer genius, Mrs. Camo to work with our idea. She made small work of creating some software to “mock up” the format which was dubbed Xtreme “No Lift” racing.
Thankfully we have a great new track Manager at Lebanon, who is both passionate about racing and open to new ideas. Wayne Delmonte gave us the green light for a dozen racers to run on a Saturday and allow us to dry run the software and racing format.
To over simplify, we did the best we could to come up with a relatively “heads up” race with built in incentives to run your car all out down the track and encouraged the “no lift” tag name by making it a “first to finish line” drag race.
I would like to personally thank each and every racer who stepped up to try something new and completely untested without showing any concern or reservations! Way to go group!
Jeff Kraenzle, Heather Rose, Denny Boyle, Kelly Boyle, Scott Samokar, Bill Kirpens Jr. Fred Kochanek, Tony Dipietro, Mike Duval, Stu Brown, and Lenny Williams all showed up today without any real idea of what they were getting themselves into!
It was a proud moment to hear “our” group called to the lanes and watch from the tower as they went through their paces. My Heart raced as two by two they screamed down the track!
Unfortunately like many things in life, there are sometimes obstacles to overcome. Kelly bowed out gracefully due to a stomach bug, but still offered to run if we absolutely needed her to. Time trails claimed two transmission issues for both Billy Kirpens Jr. and Fred Kochanek, followed by Lenny Williams with elusive oil pressure.
Unswayed, the remaining racers put their cars through the paces as we ironed out little bugs in the format, timing system, etc.
I chuckled as fellow Committee members CC and Ice cream battled it out. I’ll let them tell you who won! At the end of a long, grueling day, and with track curfew fast approaching, our final two racers entered staging.
Stu Brown and his Big Block Nova had been deadly consistent all day. In fact, the single most consistent car and driver. Scott Samokar would have to push his 69 Camaro to the absolute limits if he hoped to pull off this win. Push he did with a .000 reaction time and a win at the stripe!!!!! Scott not only won our event for the day but pleasantly surprised us all by being the first “Triple Zero Hero” at an Xtreme event. It will be my honor to hand him the first Perfect light club sticker and post his picture in our Reaction time Lounge on www.1320Xtreme.com Way to go Scott!!!!!!
Thanks again to all the racers who participated and a HUGE thank you to Lebanon Valley and all the hard working staff on board. I was truly impressed with the “behind the scenes” work that goes into a day at the races. Great job people and thank you for your hard work!!!!!!
Looking forward to May 29th at Lebanon Valley for a day of index and Class racing. Hope you can all make it and be a part of the excitement!!!

Great Blog! What an amazing day at the race track! Great weather, much fun had by all of us! My chevelle ran incredible #'s all day. my 60' was 138.0 for 3 passes. Iceceam and I went at it first round.
He won but uhhh then I won! lol. the timing system wasn't set up for a break out.
I was excited to see Scott win the race and when I found out he got the"Triple hero Zero" on his final pass, that just made it a happy ending desert!
First Xtreme event, First "Triple Hero Zero sticker" won! Thanks Smitty for manning the computer/software.
